Introduction
Many youths complete their graduation by their early 20s in their lives. However, not everyone are lucky enough to land up into the jobs. Youths struggle to find the jobs as employment opportunities are limited in Nepal. The government job opportunities are even scarcer. Though there are many social problems in Nepal and these problems can be taken as opportunities to create social entrepreneurship, there are many challenges to bridge the gap. The fresh graduates don’t get the employment opportunities as vacancies are usually seeking candidates with some prior experiences. If the fresh graduates are not given opportunities, then how they can gain experiences, the question keeps lingering. Without experiences anywhere, very few youths can gain confidence to start-up their own ventures. The skill gaps can be clearly realized once people get their hands in the work. Thousands of youths prefer travelling to foreign employment than working in Nepal as the economic environment in Nepal is depressing. The families are ready to take loan to send their children abroad but not to take business risks in Nepal.
Aayam with an intention to reach out to such youths who are striving to do something and develop their professionalism, Aayam has designed the 3- month ‘Aayam Fellowship’ where youths get platform to learn and test their ideas.
About the fellowship
Aayam fellowship is 3 month professional development placement program designed to promote aspiring change makers to experiment their ideas. It adopts an approach of “Learning by Doing”.
Purpose
The purpose of Aayam Fellowship is to provide platform to the young graduates to learn and test their ideas.
